Trip.com’s Honghu Yiyou & Standard Chartered China launch the "Standard Chartered Honghu Diamond Debit Card"

Trip.com's Q2 financial report: Net revenue of 12.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14%
On August 27, Trip.com Group announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter and first half of 2024. The second-quarter net revenue was 12.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14%; net profit was 3.9 billion yuan, a significant increase from 648 million yuan in the same period last year. The company stated that the growth was mainly driven by the increasingly strong demand for holiday tourism. In the second quarter of 2024, Trip.com's hotel booking revenue was 5.1 billion yuan, transportation ticket revenue was 4.9 billion yuan, vacation travel revenue was 1 billion yuan, and business travel revenue was 630 million yuan, with all sectors showing varying degrees of growth.
In the second quarter, cross-border travel significantly boosted Trip.com's business. In terms of outbound travel, Trip.com's outbound hotel and airline bookings fully recovered to the levels of the same period in 2019. For inbound travel, various facilitation measures have sparked a boom in China travel. In the first half of this year, Trip.com's inbound travel bookings increased by nearly twofold year-on-year, contributing 25% of Trip.com’s overseas platform revenue. Additionally, the development of Trip.com's overseas platforms in local markets such as Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the United States drove a year-on-year revenue increase of about 70% for the overseas platform in the second quarter.

Hainan Airlines launches direct Haikou-Moscow route
On August 26, Hainan Airlines successfully launched its first flight from Haikou Meilan International Airport to Moscow with flight HU765. This marks the opening of the first regular passenger route from Haikou to Russia this year. The route is operated by Hainan Airlines using the A330 aircraft, with flights scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
China Eastern Airlines to reopen seasonal Shanghai-Perth route
China Eastern Airlines announced that it will resume the special Shanghai-Perth route during the 2025 Lunar New Year. This seasonal direct route follows the same service offered during the Lunar New Year in 2020 and 2023. The plan includes 10 additional flights over three weeks, from January 24 to February 14, 2025, covering the entire Chinese New Year period.
China Southern Airlines launches direct Guangzhou-Islamabad route
On August 25, China Southern Airlines launched its direct Guangzhou-Islamabad route, operated with a Boeing 787 aircraft, with flights scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
AirAsia adds two new China-Malaysia routes
On August 27, AirAsia announced the launch of two new routes: Shenzhen to Penang and Jieyang (Chaoshan) to Kota Kinabalu (Sabah). The Jieyang (Chaoshan)-Kota Kinabalu route will have its inaugural flight on November 16, 2024, with three weekly flights. The Shenzhen-Penang route will begin on October 28, 2024, with four weekly flights.
Beibu Gulf Airlines to launch new Linyi-Nanning-Singapore international route
HNA Group’s Beibu Gulf Airlines announced on August 29 that it will launch a new Linyi-Nanning-Singapore international route starting September 27.
